# What is GLT coin?

GLT coin is a native token for the GMLayer protocol with the following key features:

1. **Transaction Fees**: Transaction fees that support the purchase and use of all products and services on the GMLayer platform.
2. **Pledge**: By pledging your $GLT and participating in the Network, you are eligible to earn Pledge Rewards.
3. **Governance**: Used to create and approve governance proposals to guide the future of the ecosystem.
4. **GLT as Gas**: Used to pay for all transactions on the GMLayer rollup. This means that GLT not only plays a role in ecosystem governance but also in the actual transactions on the network.
